Are You Mindfully Mindful?

Mindfulness, you may find is a word that has been banded around recently, it’s the new buzzword popping up in conversations and being tossed about like a ping pong ball.

It is a mental state which is brought about by focusing on one’s awareness and being in the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one’s emotions, thoughts, and feelings. This technique is used to focus the mind on the task ahead and experience more consciously. In today’s world where our pace is super fast and we want everything right now! It helps to take out some zen time and indulge in this uber form of meditation.

I recently took a class in mindfulness which involved listening to a lot of soft music, being aware of my body and understanding brain activity. I must say, I felt more calm and clear-headed afterwards.

Celebrities from Oprah Winfrey to Angelina Jolie have embraced mindfulness and swear by it to help them cope with their hectic schedules and reduce stress, whilst making them happier and more energetic.

Research shows that achieving mindfulness helps in attaining happiness and success- a clear mind can solve problems by proffering solutions.

Google runs mindfulness courses and quite a number of schools are adopting this technique to improve the quality of life of their students.

These days, celebrities, creatives, business tycoons and CEOs seek out methods- some bizarre, some as ancient as 1500BC to achieve better health and wellbeing so as to enjoy a more balanced lifestyle.

Have you heard of mindfulness or practised it- did it change anything? We’d love to hear from you.

With Love Always,
